Information on all elections:
www.aboutmyvote.co.uk HustingsAn in-school hustings with real local candidates, is a great way to give students a taste of the real thing whilst energising your mock election. Here is our simple guide to organising your in-school hustings:
-
Invite all candidates provided
they do not contravene your schools equal opportunities policy.
-
Ensure all candidates have equal time to speak.
-
Ensure all candidates get a fair say.
-
Remind all candidates of the 1973 agreement prepared by the
Politics Association and signed by all main political parties on the
issue of politics in schools. This agreement requires candidates to
avoid being partisan and focus on what they offer as candidates and
the importance of voting.
